Chana Namkeen / Crispy Chickpeas

Ingredients:
  • Chana / White Chickpeas - 1/2 cup
  • Water - as required
  • Salt to taste
  • Red Chilly Powder - 1 to 2 tsp
Method:
  • Soak chana in hot water for atleast 4-5 hours.
  • Drain soaked water and pressure cook for a whistle on medium flame with 1 cup fresh water.
  • Let the pressure release on its own.
  • Drain the water and spread it on a clean towel or tissue for atleast one hour.
  • Heat oil for frying on medium flame. Fry chana in batches till chana starts floating on top and golden brown in color.


  • Spread fried chana on a tissue to wipe off excess oil. Repeat for all the chana.
  • Take chana in a bowl and add salt and red chilli powder to taste. Mix well to coat all chana.
  • Store in airtight container when room temperature.
