Serves 2
Ingredients:
- Ginger - 2 inch piece
- Red Chilly - 1 or 2 nos
- Jaggery Powder - 1/2 to 1 tbsp
- Tamarind concentrate - 1 tsp
- Urad Dal - 1 tsp
- Chana Dal - 1 tsp
- Onion - 1 tbsp
- Oil - 1 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed
- Heat oil in a pan on medium flame.
- Add urad dal, chana dal and red chilly. Saute till golden.
- Further add onion and let it turn translucent.
- Add chopped ginger and saute till ginger is roasted well.
- Switch off the stove and add jaggery powder and tamarind extract as per taste.
- Transfer to a mixer jar or mortar pestle and grind to a chutney. I used mortar pestle to grind instead of mixi.
- Serve with hot pesarattu.
